vocabvocabvocab!
today is vocab day.

prevalent - most frequent or common
Carrying cellular phones is probably the most prevalent habit among teenagers.
Certainly, what I'm doing is not prevalent.
LiveJournal should be the most prevalent blog hoster around.
He was prevalent visitor in the library.

content and contempt are completely opposite
content  = :)
contempt = :( [or scorn, lack of respect, dislike!!!!]
I was content with your actions, but your contempt for me is inexcusable!

ambivalent - uncertain, unsure
I'm still freaking ambivalent about my college course.
Could I be any more ambivalent?
This ambivalence is making me hungry.
Why am I always ambivalent about the meaning of ambivalent?
AURRGH! Ambivalence should die!

convert and covert are so so different.

convert = well, duh, you know.
covert = secret, hidden, surreptitious
My covert actions led me to jail.
I covertly converted to a Christian.
I am not being covert about my lack of knowledge in vocabulary! Whahaahah!

I am deplorable. My SATs are in ONE WEEK.
Deplorable = poor in quality, bad, unfortunate, deserving rebuke or censure, condemnable
I will deplore you to hell! [HAHAHA]

Friend, timid does not directly mean shy. It means fearrrrrr. SHOW YOUR TIMIDNESS TO ME! [Wait, no, that's wrong.] I am timid about my skillz.
Timid = showing fear, lack of self-confidence or conviction/boldness/courage

TREPID and TIMID is similar! So is timorous!!!
trepid = timid by nature
I am not trepid, obviously. My nature is freaking public, therefore it s not timid, nor trepid. (That sentence was AMBIGUOUS! HAHAHA)

circumlocution means "indirect expression"
despondent means "without hope"
I am so despondent that I am making sentences in my LJ.
Once I am not despondent, I will look back at this post and laugh verily.

INFER = DEDUCE = GUESS CORRECTLY = CONCLUDE = GENERALIZE
Ubiquitous = omnipresent
fortified: like a fort, strong. Therefore strengthened or make stronger.
supercilious = having or showing arrogant superiority to and disdain for those one views as unworthy
- expressive of contempt (
AH-HA! I won't fall for you again! CONTEMPT IS NOT CONTENT.)
OR lordly-ish.
I am supercilious compared to all of you little beings!
I showed a supercilious smile when she threw a coin at me.

guffaw = HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
aka a burst of deep loud hearty laughter

I guffawed because your costume is too funny.

allude and elude are different!!!
allude means to make an indirect reference to! AND NO it is not synonymous to refer. Refer is to something specific, while allusion is an indirect mention!
elude is to escape.

She alluded that I was the culprit!
Then she eluded the police.
I guffaw at her stupidity.

benign - pleasant and beneficial to nature of influence!
- kindness of disposition or manner
-not dnagerous
-not recurrent or progressive (esp of a tumour)

The benign sky made me happy.
At this benign time, I think it would be nice to not panic.
Even if my SATs are near, I must wallow in the benign air of summer~

facile
- arrived at without due care or effort; lacking depth
-expressing yourself readily , clearly, effectively

I must memorize all these words so I can become facile!
I want to be so good--that every part of my body becomes facile with hard tasks!

Can I stay earnest?

This certainly is an enigma.
OKAY THAT'S ALL FOR NOW.
Pray that I won't become a cadaver!!!!
